Asmongold responds to Ted Cruzs position on the regulation of loot boxes
It is possible that Ted Cruz and Asmongold feel to talk about the booty boxes in the near future after the US senator responded to the concerns of the Twitch transmitter with respect to monetization in the game. Booty boxes have become an incredibly frequent conversation issue in the game industry during the last decade, even resulting in some legal actions from certain countries after it got out of control. Although many of the main editors have changed since then to things like battle passes or simply microtransactions without random qualifiers, loot boxes still exist in several games, including the main sports titles such as FIFA. Some of these games can promote the idea that if you pay enough money, you can get the best articles in the game and be better than other players, but in reality the loot boxes are designed so that the best articles are rarely give you.
Asmongold recently expressed concern about this problem and called Ted Cruz to address him and the US senator. UU. He responded. Senator Cruz said he would love to sit and talk to Asmongold about the matter and said he plays and has been tempted to pay microtransactions in the game before. The official Cruz position is that, although he believes that the games are designed to be addictive, he does not know if the government should play a role in preventing the game industry from choosing how to monetize their titles. Cruz discussed the matter about how he can really be harmful to children, but he is not convinced that the government should intervene. Asmongold turned to Twitter to express his enthusiasm for Cruz’s response.
At this time, it is not clear if they will end up sitting to have a conversation, when it will take place and if it will be transmitted or recorded so that the public can see it. However, it is good to see a transmitter using his platform to raise a problem that many players have. It remains to be seen if something will come out or not, but it is good to see that the conversation is being held at some level.
